Dnyaneshwar of Spinal Surgery
Besides teaching the doctors Dr. P.S.Ramani has taken the knowledge of Spinal Surgery at grass root level to common man. There are too many misconceptions in the mind of common man regarding spinal surgery. Dr.Ramani took upon himself the responsibility of educating the masses. Besides writing several books on this topic he has been travelling from place to place all over India giving lectures by multimedia presentation to masses.
Seen in this picture is a 2000 strong crowd listening to Dr.Ramani's two hours lecture on backache. He draws large crowds in various corners of Maharashtra. In a lecture recently held in Kolhapur-Maharashtra 3500 strong crowd listened to him with interest for 2 hours and then spent another hour and half asking questions. He is popularly known as Dyaneshwar of Spinal Surgery in Maharashtra. There is indeed a strong need in India for similar propagation of knowledge to the masses specially on topics where there is too much misconception. Most of the times the lecture is followed by a Free Medical Examination Camp where over one hundred patients are examined free and given advice.
In spite of various modalities of propagation of knowledge, direct presentation to the masses remains the most potent tool of conveying the message most effectively. When it is followed by practical workshop of clinical examination it further adds glitter to the understanding.
