Ahilayabai Ramani Pratisthan activities

Last year on the 4th June Dr Ramani had opened a free public library in his native village Wadi-Talauli in Goa.It is running well and contains 6000 books besides daily papers, weekly and monthly magazines and periodicals and annual magazines.

On the 15th April 2007 Dr Ramani opened a gymnasium in his village. It is modern and contains all the amenities. It will be manned by a trainer and a supevisor. There is no admission fee and once again it is free for all.

To inaugurate the Gym, a mini jogging races competion was organised in the morning. More than 400 people participated in the races. There were 12 Kms and 6 Kms jogging races and 6 Kms walking races for male and female senior citizens. Dr Ramani himself along with his assistant Dr Antonio Figueiredo ran 12 Kms race and finished in good time.

Dr Anup Ramani, Consultant Laporoscopic Urological Surgeon who has just returned back from USA flagged off the races. Several of Dr Ramani's friends including doctors from Mumbai and Goa participated in the races.

Honourable Ministers from Goa Shri Subhash Shirodkar and Shri Ramakrishna Dhavaliker inaugurated the Gym and gave away the prizes to race winners. Certain sports personalities from Goa were felicitated by Ahilayabai Ramani Pratisthan.
