NSSA and Ahilyabai Ramani Prathishtan Orator for 2013 : Prof. Prashant P Banerjee
Prof. Prashant P Banerjee, PhD Professor of Industrial Engineering, Bioengineering, Computer Science and Ophthalmology & Visual Science at the University of Illinosis in Chicago delivered the oration on 23rd January 2013 at Conference Room, Lilavati Hospital and Research Centre, Mumbai.
He talked on “Virtual Reality based simulation of 3D Operative Techniques in Spinal Surgery with Tactile Feedback” and highlighted on latest developments in Finger Touch 3D technology with the use of Robots to train doctors in Spinal Surgery.
Cadaver workshops are becoming difficult and the technology he discussed will be helpful to give hands on practice to doctors.
Dr Banerjee was felicitated by Dr P S Ramani with 75 years Commemorative Gold Medal.
